Appalachian Ironworks is a locally
owned and operated business serving
Roanoke, Salem, Vinton, Radford,
Blacksburg, Christiansburg, Smith
Mountain Lake and surrounding areas
in Southwestern Virginia.

Reality is we will fabricate anything out
of metal.  We have been
commissioned to fabricate some odd
pieces  from aviary window grates and
perches to a swivel base designed to
hold a $400,000.00 piece of sculpture
for an Estate entrance.  

Generally we are asked to fabricate
"normal" pieces of metalwork including
Custom Spiral Staircases, Estate
Entrance Gates, Pool Surround
Fencing, Indoor and outdoor railings
and handrail.  We also have hybrid
spirals that incorporate straight steps
along with spiral design.  This allows
more options when it comes to the
direction of entry and exit.  Because
our spirals are all custom built in our
shop we have the freedom to offer
unlimited options when it comes to
design and layout.

Most of our work comes from  
fabricating railings.  Half of those
railings are 10 ft. or less per job with
no designs,  usually just to aid in
climbing a few steps.  Although these
jobs do not generate a beautiful photo
for our website, they are well worth the
gratitude and thanks from a
homeowner knowing that we have
helped make their daily routines less
complicated.
